"Bay" was a son of the legendary show mare, Fanfare, and the wonderful old pure Crabbet stallion, Bayang*, who was bred by Harwood Stud in England.
"Bay" was very refined with a lovely short back, magnificent hindquarter and dry, chiselled head. He also possessed the famous Rissla action, which isn't surprising, as he was only 3 generations removed from this renowned mare. He gave an armchair ride. His ability to produce all his own wonderful qualities in each & every foal, from mares of all types & bloodlines, was nothing short of amazing! He has produced some fantastic performers in the fields of halter, endurance, racing, & many other saddle disciplines. His son, Salam Mezzlah recently won the exhibition race at the 2007 Australian Championships by over 3 lengths, breaking the course record!
